To trap, sterilize, and release wild cats, the following steps can be followed

1、 Trapping wild cats
Choosing trapping tools: Using trapping cages is a common and less harmful method for cats. The size of the trap cage should be moderate, allowing cats to enter and exit freely.
Place bait: Place food as bait in the trap cage, such as cat food that cats usually consume. You can put more inside the cage to make the cat have to crawl in and eat. At the same time, some cat food is also placed at the mouth of the cage as additional bait.
Set traps: Place traps in areas where wild cats frequently appear, such as near garbage dumps in the community or in the activity areas of wild cats. Ensure that the cage door can be closed properly and adjust the spring of the cage opening.
Disguise the cage: Cover the cage with a cloth or towel, but be careful not to block the entrance to increase the concealment of the trap.
Regular inspection: Regularly inspect the trap cage to ensure that the cage door can be closed properly, and clean up any captured wild cats.

2、 Sterilizing wild cats
Selection of sterilization time: It is recommended to undergo sterilization surgery on cats at 6-8 months of age, when the cat has not yet shown strong estrus behavior and should weigh at least 2.5 kilograms or more.
Choose a pet hospital: Priority should be given to institutions with the ability to detect feline distemper, and ensure that cats complete the basic immunization program for the feline triple vaccine before undergoing sterilization surgery.
Using sedatives: For extremely nervous stray cats during capture and transportation, oral sedatives and stress relievers can be administered one hour in advance to alleviate their stress response.
Hospitalization observation: After sterilization surgery, it is necessary to stay in hospital for a period of time, especially for female cats that have undergone lateral incision and intradermal suture. Generally, hospitalization is required for about a week to ensure the stability of the wound.

3、 Release the Wildcat
Choose a suitable location: Choose a place far away from human settlements, with sufficient food and a safe environment to release wild cats. Avoid providing them with food immediately after release to prevent them from returning to their original location.
Continuous monitoring: During a period of time after release, regularly visit the release site to observe the living conditions of wild cats and ensure that they can adapt to the new environment.

Through the above steps, it is possible to trap, sterilize, and release wild cats, which helps to control the number of stray cats and reduce their impact on the environment and human life. At the same time, it is also necessary to pay attention to complying with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards during the operation process, ensuring that the entire process is legal, compliant, safe, and orderly.
